To All Association Members and Residents,
First and foremost, all of us at The Towers want to wish you and your family health and safety.
During this time of caution while we are all dealing with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we at The Towers will do everything we can to keep you informed of events or changes taking place due to this most serious pandemic. Items are updated on the Towers website www.thetowerscondos.org.
What is most important currently is that we all appreciate the value of reliable information, and stay calm when dealing with rising fears and anxiety. In order to get the best and most reliable information, it is wise to limit your sources. The most reliable update source for Florida residents is The Florida Department of Health. This is a dynamic website that will be updated regularly. Local television stations will also do their best to keep you informed of closings and restrictions that may affect you or your family.
Please take heed and join the effort to overcome this virus with a united front! You can guiltlessly binge your favorite Netflix now, and no one will call you out on it! Also, remember to allow each other a little alone time when you can. It can be very helpful for everyone. Now is the time to take full advantage of all the cool social media we have built up around us! TikTok is a wonderful source of laughter, if you haven’t discovered it yet. 12
Additionally, it may be helpful to keep in mind that there are no rules to combat what is happening. As you are dealing with the concept of isolation and how it affects your life, please remind yourself that it is happening to everyone. Your family, your neighbors, your service people; we are all in this together and this has never happened to any of us before. We all must understand that stress levels will run high. Tension among friends, neighbors and family is something we all need to recognize and manage. Being considerate and respectful of others’ time and emotions is an essential part of our pulling together to get through this period of uncertainty. In a time when we all feel as though we have lost control of our daily lives, let’s focus on controlling our behavior to spread positive vibes that make others smile for a minute. It is the next best thing to a hug.
As you are looking over your grounds from your lovely Towers unit, you may occasionally see our Essential Workers. For details about essential workers and their contributions, please continue.
State of Florida Office of the Governor Executive Order Number 20-19 CISA Advisory Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers During COVID-19 Response, Page 10 “Workers such as plumbers, electricians, exterminators, builders, contractors, HVAC technicians, landscapers, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences, businesses and buildings such as hospitals, senior living facilities, any temporary construction required to support COVID-19 response.”
The Towers has four essential workers: Terry Ondak, Mark Alonso, Veronica, and Urial Martinez, besides our other approved contractors. These four, along with our maintenance contractors, can perform and meet the guidelines to continue our managing and servicing our property.
In Sunday’s paper an article was written by Joe Adams, Real Estate Attorney, that responded to questions regarding COVID-19. A question asked, “Can we excuse our unit owners who have lost their jobs from paying their assessments?” Joe Adams responded, “In general, the statutes prohibit excusing any unit owners from paying their share of assessments unless all other units are excused. Contact your attorney.”
Please note, due to dangers in transmission of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) the pool, gas grills, and surrounding pool area will be CLOSED to Residents and Guests until further notice. At the Towers, we are doing everything we can to help "flatten the curve" by limiting public interaction, and we ask that you help by complying with this most important step in protecting the safety of us all. Thank you for your cooperation.
Twenty five percent of the Towers residents work in the medical field or nursing facilities. We need to thank or clap for their generous service and commitment. We would like everyone to observe some common sense practices until this virus is no longer a threat. Social distancing is imperative. Please do it.

It is important to understand we are just beginning to realize the impact of this crisis on our daily life. In order to stay safe and stop the spread of the Coronavirus in our homes, we all must abide by the rules and regulations put in place to minimize our risks of contamination.
These rules must be adhered to by all, especially as we all continue to enjoy the beautiful weather that brought us to SW Florida. Understandably, most all residents have their windows, sliding doors and screen doors open to enjoy the breezes. Please be extra aware of the noise levels of your voice, TV, or music as the sound echoes when your lanai faces the courtyard. Increased base notes will also affect residents with vibrations in their unit above, below or next to your unit. This is especially important to consider for those neighbors with hearing aids as the increased sound can actually be painful to them. We all need to be extra courteous to our neighbors to avoid unnecessary stress or conflict. They too are expected to abide by common sense noise levels. If we all follow the same rules, there will be no misunderstandings among neighbors, and that is one of the things we can all control now. We are all in this together.
Be patient, be kind, be safe.
On Behalf of the Board of Directors,
Steve Kamel, CAM
