ELECTION UPDATE April 2013
Thanks to all who took part in our recent annual meeting we were able to establish a quorum allowing our Annual Meeting to take place. Many thanks to all that sent in their proxies as well as those of you who were able to attend.
The following board members have one year remaining on their terms:

The Towers is very fortunate to have such an ambitious and devoted Condominium Board! Please be sure to congratulate them when you see them around the property. Their combined efforts successfully allow us all to enjoy a very well operated and lovely place to live here at The Towers Condominiums!

To All Perspective Candidates:
Enclosed is a notice and Intent form for the upcoming current election. The Florida Statue 718 clearly defines the Directors’ and Officers’ Fiduciary Responsibilities’ in detail for members running for the board. The intent form signed now holds you personally responsible for acknowledging of the familiarity with statue 718 and the governing documents of the Towers Association. Members of the Board of Directors and each officer of the Association have a fiduciary duty to members of the association. The fiduciary relationship imposes obligations of trust and confidence in favor of the corporation and its members. It means the board members and officers must exercise due care and diligence when acting for the community. It requires them to act with the scope of their authority.
The fact that the association is a not-for-profit corporation or that member of the board are unpaid volunteers does not relieve them from the high standards of trust and responsibility the fiduciary relationship requires. When a member accepts a position on the board of directors he /she is presumed to have the knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the director. Board members cannot be excused from responsibility on the grounds of ignorance or inexperience. Liability of board members for negligence and mismanagement exists in favor of the association.
An individual director may not act on behalf of the board. The power to act is granted to the board of directors, and members must act as a board.
